TIPS & ADVICE
Party Format
A typical party is 2 hours long. This usually consists of one hour of disco and
games, 20 - 30 min food break, 30 - 40 minutes disco and games.
No/ few balloons
A lot of people, when they think of children's birthday parties, they immediately
think of balloons everywhere. Where this will look great at the start of the party
they can get in the way of the games and 90% of them will be popped by the kids
in the first five minutes. We recommend having balloons taped to the walls or
helium balloons attached to string and maybe some balloons on the floor.
As much space as possible
30 - 40 kids do take up a lot of space. So in order to make the games as great
as they can be, try to allow as much free space as possible for the games. You
can help do this by putting the food tables as far back as possible. That said
we will work around the space you provide so don’t panic if your venue doesn’t
have as much space as others. We will work around it and provide a great party.
Other Adults
Some adults drop their kids off and leave, others will stay for the whole party.
Set up seats around the outside of the room for the adults to sit on.
Check for sound limiters in the venue
Some venues have sound limiters which limit how loud you can to be.
These limiters are devices usually on a wall somewhere and they cut out
all the power in the building if you get to loud. Where as some limiters
‘limit’ is set quite high, some are set really low and will cut the power
just at the volume of kids screaming. We have done many parties in
venues with sound limiters and have found that, a lot of the time no one
knew there was a sound limiter so it cuts the power unexpected.
When this happens usually you either need to find the limiter to get the
power back on or it comes back automatically after a few minutes.
Though it is only a few minutes this can stop the atmosphere and break
the party mood. If there is a limiter in your venue, don't panic! As we said,
we’ve done lots of parties with sound limiters so we will just work around
it. It just might be worth finding out before hand if their is one so we
know to try not to set it of.
Song Requests
If you have any songs you really really want to hear then please let us know in
advance so we can make sure we have it.
Pinata
We don't do the pinata as a game at our parties, however if you want to get one
we will happily add it in. A lot of people do this but forget to tell us until the
parties about to finish. So feel free to get one, just let us know at the start of the
party so we can allow time for it.
